Edinburgh’s New Town And Its Gardens (Greenyonder Tours)
By Jasmine Faller | Published on Tuesday 20 August 2013
‘Edinburgh’s New Town And Its Gardens’ tour involves a relaxing stroll around some of the city, with a lady who, despite confessing that she is not an expert, is very knowledgeable in her subject. A chance to learn a little about Georgian architecture and Georgian attitudes to plants and gardens, and a chance also to enter one of the private gardens on Queen Street and have a look around. Although not much happens, the hour and forty minutes fly by with the pleasantness of it all. A lovely way to start the day, though you may be left yearning for a grand garden of your own, if you do not already have one.
Outside Scott Monument, until 26 Aug (not weekends), 10.00am.
