COVERING THE EDINBURGH FESTIVAL SINCE 1996
Dru Cripps: Juicy Bits
Carving his own identity in a crowded market place, Dru Cripps opened as a mime artist, partially due to a lost voice, and we were in hysterics from the off. Croaking and pointing to his larynx, this acclaimed comedy act had his audience laughing at anything and everything, watching them quizzically as they rolled in the aisles. And of course, these onlookers were mesmerised by his comedic skills and were only too willing to join in. His use of clown, mime, improv, and voice generated musical masterpieces was… well, masterful, and the tempo, timing and control was on point – I wouldn’t be surprised to see him conducting at the Last night of the Proms. An excellent performance, highly recommended.
Hoots @ Potterow, until 25 Aug.
