Powerfully weaving together dance, song and costume, this visceral multi-media performance immediately immerses us in the rich tapestry of these four friends. Inspired by Lydia Higginson’s experience reclaiming her body, she guides us into a poetic exploration of her introversion and fixation on making clothes. The abstract representations of her mental state are beautiful yet harrowing: her friends, inspired by costumes made for them, each exhibit a specific facet of her pain. These costumes serve as a beautiful exploration into sexual autonomy, in a way that is experimental and stylistically unique. The significance of this show lies in the ongoing battle many face when being robbed of what is intrinsically theirs. Mostly importantly, this is an ode to female friendship.
