Dan Clews (Night Owl Chief) And A Handful Of Self-Penned Songs (Night Owl Shows)

A deeply personal yet funny show from a fine musician. Beautiful, meaningful folk inspired songs with guitar accompaniment and the self-deprecating tales that went along with them made for an enjoyable fifty minutes. Dan is a happy family man so nothing unsavoury was revealed, unless you count being smuggled into Glastonbury in a suitcase to avoid paying! Particular favourite songs were ‘Alphacrusis’, about a woman who adopted thousands of children overseas, ‘Human’, about being fallible, and the enigmatic ‘I Am Luck’. Life lessons for aspiring musicians from a man produced by George Martin and who has played the Albert Hall, yet also taught guitar in a cupboard for a living – and a lovely show for the rest of us!

theSpace @ Symposium Hall, run ended.
