The metaphorical thread is the rope at the centre of the show, scaled and handled variously by seven formidably skilled performers. Now: it is an hour of that… but it’s a good one. Among a giddying array of individual physical feats, the point is the connection between them and those collectively performing them, and the extent to which they depend on each other to succeed, but also just to survive. It is a concept conveyed beautifully in moments which are by turn powerful, tender and funny. This was sold out on the day of this review, and in a big room, too. Good on them – whatever is the opposite of a ‘money for old rope gag’, insert it here.
