Bog Witch (Avalon & Tellus Studio Present)

Bog Witch takes you on a journey with the bright and instantly likable mid-40s Bryony Kimmings as she navigates uprooting her blended family for a tumbledown cottage in the countryside. What follows is both hilarious and heartfelt, with beautiful costumes and props to keep you thoroughly bewitched. We watch her battle with herself as she strains to love nature as fiercely as her partner Will does, mocking her own discomfort with mud, bogs and the absence of city comforts at every turn. Beneath the comedy sits real tenderness, with themes of womanhood, loss, and the looming spectre of climate collapse woven beautifully through the story. Ultimately, this is a show about reconnecting with the land, with nature, and with yourself. Funny and quietly profound, Kimmings proves herself an unmissable storyteller once again.

Traverse Theatre, until 30 Aug.
