Andy Goldsworthy: Fifty Years (The National Galleries Of Scotland)
You won’t want to miss this. Celebrate fifty years of Andy Goldsworthy at The Royal Scottish Academy at The Mound. Goldsworthy’s work, including clay, stones, fleece, branches and leaves, reeds and more, spills out into the corridors. This is the largest indoor exhibition of the artist’s work, which showcases his ironic and thought-provoking video installations, including snow and ice. The relationships between humans and the working land is a recurring theme. It’s at once arresting, amusing, hostile and brutal. Goldsworthy says: “the RSA is not far from where I live, I couldn’t have done this exhibition anywhere else. Actually describing it as an exhibition seems wrong – it is a work in its own right.” And it’s brilliant!
National Galleries of Scotland, until 25 August.
