This show will make you question everything. It’s a strange hour with Shay Debney, as he continuously sings, dances and more whilst speaking only in questions. It’s a quite different approach to a theatrical spectacle, and its lack of a clear narrative could prove alienating, even though it makes it a piece to ponder over. The staging is very simple – a large wooden box and a light bulb – so there’s not much that’s visual to engage with, but the audience’s attention never wanders thanks to Debney’s performance and sharp and witty persona. Segments feel stretched out, though, and the whole concept feels a little stale towards the end – by which time you will be asking yourself “what did I just watch”?
