The title is a play on words and, hey, there’s much clever-funny wordplay in this play. Should language be used precisely? One of our protagonists thinks so; the other is less bothered, even arguing that language does not communicate meaning. His friend considers this bold assertion illogical and nonsensical. This might all seem somewhat erudite, and indeed there is a faint philosophical thread running through the piece, but it’s unbothersome. Apparently directionless at first, a neat plot device enables the quick-fire repartee to move on to the vacuity of political speech and the follies of sloganising. The piece maintains a thoughtfully light comic touch throughout, and both actors give superb performances, coping admirably with a sometimes fiendishly demanding script.
