Callum Patrick Hughes may be a witch but he knows how to tell a story. It’s a personal piece through which he explores his complex relationship with religion throughout the years, and being labelled a witch by his grandmother. In a simple show involving mainly himself and a guitar, Hughes once again proves he is a master at storytelling, with a script that weaves between stories of grief, alcoholism and personal beliefs. Big, raw emotions are on display, and everything links together beautifully in this wondrous, heart-filled hour. This mixture of spoken word and music becomes quite gut wrenching in its final moments, and the audience are left tearful, clearly relating to, and touched by, this resonant, glowing piece of theatre.
