The Mathemagician (Emily Jeffers/PBH’s Free Fringe)

I had high expectations after Emily Jeffers’ previous show ‘Bitty Bat’, and she absolutely met those. More of the same high quality this year, yet this time we were promised maths, and maths we were duly rewarded with. The performance was well scripted and performed, the use of basic props was delightful, and Jeffers’ sense of timing was superb, her skilful offerings unhindered by the small stage. The elements of audience participation were delightful and we were only too eager to join in as we were taken through the history of maths with the character of the Mathmagician. A highly interesting and informative set that generated laughs a plenty, with jokes from start to end. Highly recommended.

LAB at PBH’s Free Fringe @ CC Blooms, until 23 Aug.
