It’s New Year’s Eve in a North London restaurant, and the staff have gathered to celebrate and complain after a long shift. As a showcase for the recently graduated cast, it works well. However, with a cast of six, someone is always entering or exiting; it’s distracting, and the play never seems to settle down into a coherent storyline. The excellent Laura Copeland felt underused, but that’s perhaps because she is also the play’s director. The story itself is slight, with so many different loose ends being suggested, there was never going to be a way to satisfactorily tie them all up in the 45-minute running time. It is, though, an entertaining show with a promising bunch of young actors.
