Olé Olé indeed! The show offers a voyage of discovery through the world of Spanish Copla music, as the talented Dr Alejandro Postigo fills us in on what to expect from it, and digs into the history behind it. Half of the content of the show is almost like a lecture, because we learn a plethora of facts, conveyed via interviews, clips, and a fun game. The other half, meanwhile, is formed of captivating performances of famous Copla music, accompanied by live violin, of which I dearly wanted more. The stunning stage design, costumes, and Postigo’s mesmerising display whisked us away into an element of Spanish culture that he shares a heartfelt personal connection to. This show was spectacular, a real espectáculo genial!
