COME. SEE, SAW (Alex Walker)

Never did I expect to feel sympathy for the sinister doll from the Saw franchise, yet here we are. Alex Walker plays the iconic Billy the Puppet in a show that offers us a behind the scenes glimpse into his supposed life, whilst showcasing his assertion that he can be a caring dad. Walker gives a great performance, embodying the character throughout the show, and showing off her capacity for dark humour. It’s a mixture of improv and scripted comedy, and it mostly landed, but while this is entertaining and each segment works well, the show could use a touch more polish to elevate it to the exceptional. That said, it’s a lot of fun, and you’ll be sad when this show is over.

Paradise in The Vault, until 24 Aug.
