In this modern age, which of us hasn’t followed a trail into the darker depths of the internet? Alex has fallen deep into an online rabbit hole and continues to be sucked in by a reddit thread about a man seen brandishing a machete in her local area. The staging is very sparse, but it’s a very wordy monologue that oozes evocative descriptions, so it’s easy to clearly imagine the different places and well built characters. Ella Hällgren keeps the momentum going with an engaging performance, further elevating the already well-written script. At times though, it almost feels as though the richness of the writing hinders the show’s pacing; the avalanche of detailed description caused my attention to slightly waver.
