COVERING THE EDINBURGH FESTIVAL SINCE 1996
Mind Milk (The Awkward Silence)
A constantly novel comedy experience: a sketch show where the idea is that people’s dreams are milked for insane scenes that will have you laughing out loud. From an auctioneer coming home, to pasta scenes and a dinosaur restaurant, every moment kept surprising me in this non-stop hour. This duo has constructed a very well written sketch show, and, even through the absurdity, still find ways to keep linking it all together – the callbacks are genius. At moments certain scenes recalled the style of ‘Monty Python’s Flying Circus’. Given the competition – there are so many sketch comedy shows out there – the show would benefit from some tightening up to make it truly stand out from the crowd, but it’s still a great hour of insanity that feels like it’s over too soon.
Gilded Balloon Patter House, until 26 Aug.
