Fringe! The Musical (Little Big Stack)

A review about a Fringe show about Fringe shows…what? This musical takes a look at the Edinburgh Fringe and whether it’s obnoxious critics, artists breakout hopes, or creators trying to recapture the heights of past success, it certainly covers it all. The musical moments are the most effective, taking us to an 80s roller disco or the bustling Royal Mile, while the cast are energetic and enjoy themselves, making this an entertaining spectacle. So, most of the elements are there, however, the light-hearted comedy does not always land, and the show suffers a little from predictability with its obvious storyline. There’s still lots to recommend it though, it’s a simple and amusing musical that will certainly bring enjoyment to all.

Gilded Balloon Patter House, until 26 Aug.
