Nothing To Declare (Dictaphone Group / Forest Fringe)

By | Published on Thursday 22 August 2013

A great show is the perfect mixture of the right artist and the right narrative. The Dictaphone Group achieved just this. This piece featuring Abir Saksouk, Tania el Khoury and Petra Serhal sees them tell the story of their journeys from the centre of Beirut to the south, north and east border respectively. Travelling alone, each followed the now destroyed railway; here they relate stories and experiences of both their journey and the history of the railway, both politically and locally. Exploring people’s now limited mobility inside of a country wrought with political and personal tragedy. This is an incredibly moving performance with stunning imagery and stories certain to change your life.

Out Of The Blue Drill Hall, until 21 Aug, 3.30pm.
