Tangram (Stephan Sing And Christiana Casadio)

By | Published on Friday 16 August 2013

A joy to behold, this duo dance a moving and memorable interplay between lovers. Sing and Casadio have created a unique piece, blending juggling, ballet and contemporary dance. They come together and then push apart, in an attempt to gain power over one another. White discarded juggling balls lie on the stage, forming the only set dressing, rendering the atmosphere simple and entirely effective. A particular highlight has Casadio reflecting the rhythm of a bouncing ball with the astonishingly flexible and well executed movement of her own body. Truly, this pair are a pleasure; and you don’t have to be a lover of dance to find the whole thing both beautiful and breathtaking.

Pleasance Dome, until 25 Aug, 11.40am.
