Ross Vs Violich – Pistols at 3.55pm (Ross / Violich / PBH’s Free Fringe)
By Kate Pasola | Published on Friday 9 August 2013
If you’re busy mining for Fringe comedy gold, it’s likely you’ve already grown weary of the mandatory crowd-warming at the beginning of every show you’ve seen. So when Ross and Violich hurl themselves at every single audience member to deliver a welcome high-five, the originality is immediately arresting. Cue pandemonium: a 60 minute carousel of puns, linguistic tomfoolery and the most verbose willy-humour in Fringe history. At times, the puns grew a little exasperating, and the more absurd anecdotes danced on the edge of audience patience. But R&V were gloriously self-aware, and the self-deprecating manner with which this was dealt won burgeoning favour with the audience. The show will grow slicker by the night, and is set to be freaking genius.
The Voodoo Rooms, until 25 Aug (not 6, 13, 20), 3.55pm.
