Jonny Donahoe – Class Whore (Supporting Wall)
By Victoria Beardwood | Published on Tuesday 13 August 2013
Before we’d even set foot in the venue, Jonny Donahoe came out to greet us – a novel way to start a comedy show and also an effective method of getting an audience on your side. Donahoe’s charming disposition shone during this storytelling comedy show, about the class system and his own personal experience of it. It made for an interesting performance and raised a chuckle on numerous occasions, though at times it felt less like a comedy show and more like a one-sided conversation with a very nice chap you’ve just met. The show lacked the extra oomph it needed to be really good, but the subject matter was fascinating and it was a perfectly pleasant way to spend an hour.
Underbelly Bristo Square, until 26 Aug (not 12), 1.25pm.
