Domestic Science (Helen Arney And Rob Wells / PBH’s Free Fringe)

By | Published on Thursday 8 August 2013

Making science fun, Arney and Wells combine stand up comedy, science experiments and a few guests to create an hour of lunchtime entertainment. After a lively beginning, the act becomes clumsy, as the performers fiddle around with props and stumble over forgotten lines. The show is based around several DIY science experiments which, due to the size of the props used, can only be seen by the front few rows. However, the pair do explain an array of scientific facts in layman’s terms to create an educational as well as amusing show. It also features a few special guests each day, who usually perform a short set before promoting their own Fringe show. Light-hearted fun if you’re on Canongate for lunch.

The Canon’s Gait, until 25 Aug (not 7, 14, 21), 12.10pm.
