Medicine Show (Mr and Mrs Clark)
By Joanna Gill | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
I’ve never been convinced about alternative therapies, and this show did little to change my opinion. Mr and Mrs Clark set out to mend broken hearts, fix wonky auras and test your compatibility with other members of the audience. Yes, this show is fully-interactive, so If you feel your rightful place is on stage at the Fringe, then do go along. Poking fun at wonder cures, the performers mime, sing and gurn their way through set-pieces which humiliate their chosen audience members. It’s certainly unusual, a curiosity for curious minds, and with their voodoo-esque make-up they are visually arresting, while their antics raise a laugh or two. However, these drugs didn’t really work on me.
