Tony Law Maximum Nonsense (Tony Law / The Stand Comedy Club)

Looking like a Victorian philanthropist mixed with a Vaudevillian pirate “just back from the 1908 Olympics”, Tony Law is a powerhouse of inclusive, inventive surrealist stand-up. Telling stories about his heritage; tales about Vikings and a joke about elephants, he is an absolute treat for anyone who loves comedy, as Law deconstructs the world of professional humour-mongering, before putting it back together for a ludicrously fantastic finale. He has a real knack for doing accents and there’s some outstanding audience banter (though probably not the kind you’re imagining), all squished together in an absurd hour of comic brilliance. Don’t let the lunchtime slot fool you – this is one of the must-see gigs at this year’s Fringe.
