Alternative Sex Education (Lashings Of Ginger Beer Time)
By Jessamine McHugh | Published on Tuesday 21 August 2012
Listen carefully, boys and girls, as ‘Alternative Sex Education’ brings you an important message: the battle for queer equality, not only in the eyes of the law, but in the national psyche, is far from won. Song, dance, laughter and sadness are all bound together in this socio-politically motivated cabaret, as the cast explore their experiences of sexuality and sex itself. They couldn’t be called professional, but their performances are all fuelled by genuine emotion and a passion to promote awareness of alternative sexualities. A star performance does comes from Sebastienne, with strong vocals and stage presence. So allow this thought-provoking show to challenge your preconceptions, and welcome a vibrant alternative education.
The Bongo Club, 3-17 Aug, 8.30pm.
