ED2011 3/5 Reviews ED2011 Musical Reviews
Cluedo (Poot Productions)
By Anna Hafsteinsson | Published on Wednesday 31 August 2011
Was it Colonel Mustard in the dining room? Miss Scarlet in the billiard room? Or was it Reverend Green in the library? The classic board game is brought to life in this musical adaptation, and Inspector Cluedo joins all the classic characters as they sing their way through the murder investigation. Whilst the concept is quite interesting, the execution of this production falls slightly short. With each character doing a musical number in turn, as Cluedo questions them, their responses become repetitive and the piece often lacks fluidity. A few musical numbers are entertaining and humorous but certain actors disappoint with some lacklustre performances. It’s a respectable attempt from these young performers but there is room for improvement.
