Detours – Josie Long At InSpace
By Marcus Pibworth | Published on Wednesday 31 August 2011
“Fuck the Tories, fuck the rich, fuck privatisation!” Josie Long’s message is concise and straight to the point. Through an engaging dialogue with Ellie Harrison’s excellent work ‘A Brief History of Privatisation’, Long, continuing her move towards political comedy, gives us her opinions on various political policies throughout the 20th and 21st Centuries. More often than not, she is not impressed. Through rants and musings, she suggests that the redistribution of wealth is not a stupid idea and highlights the evils of privatisation; as the rich get richer, the poor get poorer. In this era of cuts and rioting, her message is more relevant than ever. With her increasing political angle, Josie Long is onto something good.
