ED2011 5/5 Reviews ED2011 Comedy Reviews
This Arthurs Seat Belongs To Lionel Richie (Lionel Richie)

Sunshine, stunning views, comedy and rabbits? Yes, that’s right, this show had all four. The beautiful scenery was matched by a sublime comedy showcase. Mae Martin’s adaptations of classic songs (cross ‘Hey Jude’ with binge drinking) were genuinely kooky and amusing. I don’t know what Bristol has been doing right as Joel Dommet had the same kind of cute comedy as Russell Howard. Josie Long performed a hilarious rambling set, but was at her best when improvising with the crowd. Seeing comedians dealing with the adverse conditions of blustering skirts and wildlife gave all the more spontaneous fun to the afternoon. The antidote to the fringe’s cheap laughs, this was a refreshingly feel-good show. More than worth the walk.
