Doctors Do-Little (St George’s Medics Revue)
By Daisy Badger | Published on Wednesday 31 August 2011
Sketch comedy delivered in scrubs is pretty novel, and this troupe make good on their advertised claims of “irreverent” comedy, creating a sort of giggle through gritted teeth. A few sketches fall flat, but the show is so fast-paced that any blips are left behind. They mix a spot of madcap with current affairs, creating a kind of pop-culture comedy: the Miliband family are more dysfunctional than you think and Obama did us a huge favour in helping out with the riots. If you’re into comedy songs, they’ve got a couple of gems, though some cast members are better vocalists than others. It’s not slick, and it doesn’t come with frills, but it’s well worth a fiver.
