Aslan – The Lockdown (The Malenky Shots)
By Simon Thornton | Published on Thursday 18 August 2011
This is The Malenky Shots’ first Edinburgh Fringe, and I think I can say with some conviction it will be the first of many. Refreshingly quirky, dark and most importantly, funny, this young group of five from Wiltshire are full of comedic potential. From an amusingly awkward encounter in a lift between Santa and the Grinch, to two squabbling Quidditch commentators, this comic group bear great appeal to a universal audience. And although not completely polished yet, the raw talent displayed by this young bunch is beyond doubt, and it won’t belong before these diamonds are sufficiently buffed and gleaming. See them now if you want to witness the beginning of something special.
theSpaces at Surgeons Hall, 5 – 27 Aug (not 7, 14, 21), 7.05pm (7.55pm), £5.00 – £8.00, fpp40.
